Our Two-Day Teacher Training Journey at Indian Public School, Berhampore

By Krishworks Technology and Research Labs Pvt Ltd

Day 1 – A Fresh Start

The first day of our training at Indian Public School marked an exciting beginning. Four enthusiastic teachers — Simali Sarkar, Anita Indra, Debjani Ghosh, and Adrija Dutta — participated in the session. The training was hosted by Suman Mandal, and we were thrilled to work together on this new journey.

Introduction Session

We began our day early, leaving home at 9:25 a.m. to pick up Suman Mandal from the King Hotel, Berhampore. Just as we arrived, we received a call from Subhajit Roy (Director of Krishworks), who wished us all the best for the training. A few minutes later, Suman Mandal appeared — dressed smartly in a white shirt, black trousers, a blazer, and polished shoes — his formal look setting a positive tone for the day ahead.

We set out for the school on our Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350x, discussing along the way how we’d introduce Suman Mandal to the school owner, Mr. Farukh Hossain, and how we’d decorate the training room to create a warm, engaging atmosphere for the teachers.

We reached the school at 10:20 a.m. and received a warm welcome from the school authorities. After introducing Suman Mandal to Mr. Hossain and learning about his inspiring vision for the school’s development, we were guided to the training room — a spacious hall on the second floor. With the session scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m., we quickly set up our projector, speaker, and flex for branding.

Right on time, the four teachers joined us, and the session began with introductions. Suman Mandal conducted a quick self-assessment with each teacher, and we observed that Debjani Ghosh and Adrija Dutta stood out for their strong communication and classroom potential — great prospects for our Hi-Tech classes.

To break the ice, Suman Mandal conducted a fun energizer activity, which instantly lightened the mood. Meanwhile, we created a WhatsApp group for better coordination and guided the teachers through downloading and installing the TechieTeacher App using their phones. The installation process took some time, especially since we were using an APK file from Google Drive, but eventually, everyone had the app successfully installed and synced.

The training then progressed smoothly. Suman Daa introduced the topics — Phonics, Blends, Reverse Blends, Word Practice, and Interactions — demonstrating step by step how to use our teaching methods and the app effectively. The teachers participated eagerly, and we noticed genuine excitement, especially as they explored new tools like the smiley games and role-play exercises.

During the first half, Mr. Hossain dropped in a few times to observe the session, showing his keen interest. We were served tea, and we ensured the teachers remained attentive and comfortable throughout.

The morning sessions concluded around 12:45 p.m., followed by a delicious lunch arranged by the school — rice, dal, mixed vegetables, chicken, and papad. After lunch, we took a short walk outside before resuming at 1:40 p.m. The teachers returned with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

The second half focused on Word Practice, Sight Words, and Conversation Activities, with plenty of interactive games and hands-on participation. Debjani Ma’am impressed us with her enthusiasm and engagement, followed closely by Adrija Ma’am. Although Anita Ma’am seemed a bit less focused at times, overall, everyone participated well.

By 3:15 p.m., we wrapped up the first day feeling deeply satisfied. When we met Mr. Hossain afterward, his positive feedback confirmed that the day had gone exactly as we had hoped — productive, engaging, and full of promise.

Day 2 – Energy, Learning, and Collaboration

On 16th October 2025, we arrived at the school by 10:15 a.m. The morning assembly was in progress, and soon after it concluded, we set up our training space again. The teachers joined us by 10:55 a.m., smiling and full of energy — a sign that the first day had truly motivated them.

We began the session by revisiting the previous day’s activities — Phonics, Blends, Reverse Blends, and Interactions. Everyone performed confidently. Then, Suman Mandal demonstrated how to connect multiple devices through the app and showed the episode-wise class documents, helping the teachers understand how each lesson is pre-structured for smooth classroom execution.

Shortly after, Mr. Hossain joined us again as we introduced the next topic: Video Comprehension. This segment turned out to be one of the most enjoyable parts of the training. Through ladder games, role-plays, and flashcard activitie s, the teachers not only learned the techniques but also had fun participating. Debjani Ma’am and Adrija Ma’am once again stood out with their energy and creativity.

To make the training even more practical, we requested the presence of ten students for live practice. The teachers led ladder games with the students based on “What are you doing?” and “Where are you going?” — and the results were fantastic. The teachers and students both enjoyed the activities, and the classroom was filled with laughter and learning.

Lunch was served at 1:30 p.m., and it was nothing short of a feast! We were treated to fried rice, chanar dalna, palak paneer, chicken kassa, and chicken korma — an incredible spread reflecting the warm hospitality of Mr. Hossain and his team. The lunch break turned into a delightful session of conversations and camaraderie.

We resumed the session at 2:15 p.m., revising the lessons once more with the help of the books, training manuals, and flashcards provided earlier. Suman Mandal guided each teacher through practice rounds, ensuring everyone was comfortable and confident with the new teaching methodology.

Before concluding, we nominated Mrs. Anita Indra as the Point of Contact (POC) for the months of October and November. She will be responsible for coordinating the sharing of class-wise videos and episode tracking. We also learned that two teachers will handle the Bengali-medium sessions (starting January) and the other two will manage the English-medium sessions (starting April).

Testimonial Videos by:

The training concluded with group photos and testimonial videos from all four teachers, each sharing their positive experiences and excitement for the new teaching methods. When we met Mr. Hossain again for the final feedback, he expressed great satisfaction and assured us of his full cooperation moving forward.

We discussed the upcoming admission process, scheduled for the first week of November, where each student will receive a unique admission ID with QR codes for easy tracking of individual progress.

As we left the school that afternoon, we felt proud and hopeful. The warmth, energy, and enthusiasm from the teachers and management made the two-day session an incredibly rewarding experience — one that truly reinforced our mission to empower educators through technology and innovation.

In conclusion, our training at Indian Public School, Berhampore was not just about introducing digital tools or teaching methods — it was about building relationships, inspiring confidence, and creating a shared vision for the future of education.
